Welcome
Six years ago, a dedicated group in Jacksonville was so moved by the work of Dr. Lisbeth Quesada and her pediatric hospice team in Costa Rica that they held a fundraiser to raise money and awareness for this incredible organization. The inaugural event, held at the Garden Club in Jacksonville, Florida, was attended by more than 400 people and raised nearly $120,000. Subsequently, there have been three more events, which were made possible with the continued financial support from the Acosta-Rua Family Foundation and Community Hospice Foundation. These five events have brought together approximately 1,700 people and have raised more than $400,000 for pediatric hospice care in Costa Rica. The amount of funds raised is particularly remarkable given that their annual operating budget is only $150,000. These funds have been used to add nurses, nutritionists and other caregivers and to fund a new and much needed facility in the southern region of Costa Rica.
